14 Turkish lawyers were arrested in Istanbul
With this last wave of crackdown against lawyers, number of lawyers under criminal prosecution raised to 1343; 538 of them have been arrested. Like the 524 lawyers previously arrested, the 14 most recently arrested lawyers were persecuted because they made the defense profession honestly and with full integrity; so indeed in the interrogation conducted by prosecutors, “to remind the right to keep silent, to visit the client in prison” were introduced as a crime against the 18 lawyers.

Weekly Report: The Persecution On Turkish Lawyers (11-17 September)
Between 11th and 17th of September, 22 lawyers were taken into custody in Ankara, Istanbul, Diyarbakir and Antalya within scope of 3 separate police operation. As of 17th September 2017, 524 lawyers have been arrested (since 15th July 2016) and 1347 lawyers are under prosecution.

18 lawyers were taken into custody in Ankara, Istanbul and Diyarbakır (updated)
Lawyers Didem Ünsal, Aytaç Ünsal, Ahmet Mandacı, Yağmur Ereren, Barkın Timtik, Ebru Timtik, Şükriye Erden, Engin Gökoğlu, Ezgi Çakır, Süleyman Gökten, Ozgur Yılmaz, Oya Aslan, Ayşegül Çağatay, Behiç Aşçı, Aycan Çiçek, Günay Dağ, Zehra Özdemir, Özgür Yılmaz who are the members of People’s Law Office (Halkın Hukuk Bürosu) and Umut Law Office were taken into custody with police raid this morning (12/9/2017). With this last wave of crackdown against lawyers, number of lawyers under criminal prosecution raised to 1343; 524 of them have been arrested.

En date d’aujourd’hui, 552 avocats ont été arrêtés et 1403 sont sous les poursuites judiciaires. Certains des avocats arrêtés ont été soumis à la torture et aux mauvais traitements.
