As of 5th September 2017, 524 lawyers have been arrested (since 15th July 2016) and 1323 lawyers are under prosecution. Some of the arrested lawyers were subjected torture and ill-treatment.

The COE and The ECtHR bought Erdogan extra-time to continue the persecution that causes a humanitarian crisis. As said by Law Professor Mr. Altıparmak; The 2017 will be remembered as milestone for the ECtHR, such a milestone that the bargains (with governments) win not the justice and human rights.
